nice day for a fresh air nap

Its an absolutely fabulous day outside.  A sunny, warm, cloudless winter day.
After a long walk, little A fell right asleep in her sled.  Which is where she naps now, outside my window cuddled in the warmth of a down jacket.  The fresh air will do her wonders!

This is January 31st, mind you...

sunny windy winter funtime

this was on our walk yesterday,
the road was bare in places,
we've little snow to speak of.
felt like spring

This be the very same road, Today!

Kick sledding up and down!!

some snowy chariot rejoice dances

watching the wind whisp thru the trees

I do enjoy the crisp winter air in my lungs,
and rosy cheeks indoors,
a mug of yerba mate tea with honey.

that's what winter's all abooot.

How are you spending winter days?
or do you have snow? are you gardening?

Juan de Fuca - xmas 2010

I was thinking about last year's Christmas trip and upon looking, realized that I didn't post at all about it!

We had a glorious time with Stevie's family in Chilliwack!

Then we went to Vancouver Island.

Where everything in nature is huge.  Huge trees, huge beach, huge ocean...
Huge Love.

Atlin playin' with some bull kelp.

We spent a really nice day on the trails on the Southwest side of Vancouver Island.
The Juan de Fuca trails.  They are good for day trips because there are a lot of hike in beaches.

This particular beach is Sombrio Beach.

There had been a small community of people living/squatting out there very happily... until the ones in charge decided thats ENOUGH happiness.  and they told them to leave, chainsawed their homes in half and burned them.  here's the link to the documentary .  Sad.

there's still a swing back in the bush.
and their spirits are there too.
If you see any redhead girls working in Port Renfrew, with surfboards on their car, thats them!

my Drift wood collection.
A lot of these are still a part of Atlin's toys! They are used as percussion instruments.
Two hardy chunks of driftwood have a really good sound actually!

Happyest daddy.

He spent a lot of time out here before we met.
He worked on fishing boats all around Van. Island so he's connected to that area.

Littel Attie. bein' an sea babe

I have spent some good time on these beaches. the more the merrier!

I really had moments just watching and listening to the full sound and feeling of the ocean waves.
It is so powerful.
I could spend hours and hours just watching and listening.

The ocean gives meaning to the yogic breath/meditation:  Ujjayi breath

It is a great meditation. and using during asanas creates heat and groundedness.

I can still smell the salty air, feel the humidity.  soft skin.

THis is what she thought of that day trip to the Juan de Fuca!  loved it.

BC Ferrys is a wonderful place to spend time and dream.

Its nice to think:  the ocean is turning RIGHT now...

as we breath.

we've been on the road

little attie and I and one big galute of a car.

We had a wedding to attend!
and grandparents to visit...

and endless blue skies to contemplate.

we passed thru a valley too deep and full of life to ignore

here in southern Saskatch, the Valleys are almost the only wild places left!
so we took advantage of the wildflowers.

a momma hawk above teaching their young to fly or how to assess human activity, wasn't sure.

grasshoppers a plenty. these ones looked just like butterflys when they jumped!

found some sweet grass

thanked these guys for filtering out all the crap that prairie humans dump in their water systems

flutterbies butering fly...

a soul refreshment.
a good break from the car!

we even made er to the wedding on time!

congrats Dana and Glenn!

June 29, 2011

hot day, find water.

Wow. it was so hot today! I think it got to about +35C!! Nice.
Thought I should utilize tha sun and made some solar tea,
and did it ever get hot!
Then refrigerated it to have iced solar tea.
yummm. sun infused water!

The doggies, being black, were just loosin it in the heat. So We loaded up in Grampa's camper van (my new summer vehicle) and went to the "Dam" after supper.

Whenever the camper is there, it feels like Grampa is there. I love it!

When we got there, there was a man who had of all things, a TURTLE!!
He found it in the Grass and was putting it back near the water!
I assumed that someone must have let their unwanted pet turtle out here and he said, nope, Saskatchewan has turtles! I can't even believe it.
But I DID see it, so I must believe.
suppose I should've got a picture??

There was a neat design left by the high water...

Attie found some nice wild Vetch.

and dirt of course.

It was gettin to be night time and she had a relaxing walk in the Ergo baby carrier before bed.
Did I ever mention how much I love this carrier?
Well, I love it. I'd recommend it for any age.

and now its raining which pleases me cuz the garden's getting a good soak.

:0)

making rivers of rainy days

Rain rain.
I don't mind you
at first I was enjoying my rainey day, inside projects,
then the kid and dogs were visibly bored of inside projects.
so we all got our outside gear on and went a walkin'

I sure like breaking leaf dams and making rivers with my boot...

It was a good day to have rubber boots on.

this little lake was in big need of a dam break. so I helped.

can't wait till Addie is into making rivers, all she does on walks now is sleep...

if only she knew the rivers we rode thru today!!

doggies havin a sip of mud creek.

As I walked home, noticing all the windows had tv's on in them, I was almost kind of wishing I had TV to watch after I got back home from my walk.

I could watch jepordy or something.

But then I realized that if I had a TV, we may not have even gone walking at all
and we wouldn't have rosey cheeks to show for it!

However, I sure DO wish I had rototilled and planted some of the
garden before all this nice moisture...
